Did you know that mouthwashes can cause oral cancer? Well according to Australian researchers led by Professor James McCollough, the alcohol found in most popular brand mouthwashes contains a particularly dangerous chemical called acetaldehyde, which accumulates in the mouth.
Acetaldehyde is a known carcinogenic, and has been rated among the top 10% of most harmful chemical compounds. The last thing you, or anyone for that matter, needs is a mouthwash that’s corroding your mouth tissues and poisoning the cells. Imagine it in your child’s mouth!
If you want to rinse your mouth with something a bit stronger than water, a teaspoon of sea salt or plain baking soda in warm water should do the trick. And for your breath, eat parsley and mint. Simple.
So is a new way of detecting cancer. Simple. Researchers at the University of Miami have developed a saline mouthwash that detects cancers of the throat and head, including oral cancers.
After your swish and gargle the solution, you spit it out.
Antibodies are added, and if a certain protein called CD44 shows up, you have cancer in your head or neck area.
That’s not good news for you, but it does allow early detection and keeps the diagnosis process simple. Hopefully, the disease will be caught early when it’s so much easier to treat.
In our experience, the best solutions are often simple. Like our CHI products. Natural ingredients imprinted with Nature’s own energy. Simple…and wonderfully effective.
